McCall's First Beach Trip: Edisto 2009

McCall's First 4th of July

McCall is growing like a weed! He had a healthy checkup last Tuesday and weighed 9 lbs!!! Wow!! His first 4th of July was fun packed. He enjoyed Saturday with the Peace Family on lake Murray and Sunday with Nana, Papa, Gram, and Kaci on Keowee. Enjoy our new pictures!!

McCall's circumcision went well this am. He is resting and seems to be doing fine. We continue to pump tylenol in him every chance we get. He is such a big boy and a good sport. I handled it better than I thought I would!!!

McCall and Daddy had a great first Father's Day at the lake!! Daddy is giving him is bottle before bedtime!! Happy Father's Day to Papa Ree, Gramps, Papa David, and Papa Ron! We love you all!!

Weeks 2 and 3

My First trip to the lake!

We are all doing well. McCall has had alot of "firsts" over the past couple of weeks. Daddy has posted many pics on Facebook. We love going for rides in Daddy's truck after work with the windows down. We love going for walks in our stroller. McCall has enjoyed taking showers with both Mommy and Daddy! We have switched to formula and Mommy is so much happier!!! McCall never missed a beat. He loves taking a bottle, loves Enfamil, and loves that anyone can feed him. He is scheduled for his circumcision this Thursday. They could not do it at birth because his birth weight was so little. I am so sad to put him through that pain. Our one month check-up is June 30th. No shots yet. I am delaying them and spliting them up. Gram bought us a new travel swing and McCall loves to spend time in it. He is starting to really notice things around him and enjoys a few minutes of both floor and tummy time. Of course we would be breaking the rules already....McCall loves to sleep on his tummy! He sleeps so much better and really has good control of his head. Daddy and I don't sleep much as we are always checking on him but, hey, I slept on my tummy!!! We are excited to celebrated Daddy's first Father's day with him tomorrow!

We went to our first doctors appointment today. McCall weighs 6 lbs 6ozs and is 20.25 inches. He was a big boy and really enjoyed looking at things in the mirror in our treatment room. Dr. says everything looks great!! McCall loves to ride in the car so travel to and from the appointment was great. I am so proud him!!!

Our First Week

McCall is having a great weekend. We have had many great visitors, great food, and great love and support!! McCall has adapted very well to a schedule already. Although he sleeps much better on the couch than in his bed...just like his Mommy. McCall loves his stroller and going for walks. He enjoyed his Daddy showing him the rain for the first time. Maggie and Tillman have fallen in love with McCall and protect him, lick him, and whine when he cries. Both Mommy and McCall have Doctor's appointments tomorrow (June 1).

We are all doing great! We ended up having a C-section because he was not responding to the contractions and the Dr. did not want to put him through anymore stress. Turns out he had his cord wraped around his neck and feet so we are glad that we went ahead with the section. My doctor was fantastic and made the entire situation perfect!!

Last night McCall slept in the nursery and came to see me every 3-3 1/2 hours for feeding. He is rooting, latching on, and eating great. The nurses said he slept the whole time between each feeding. What a great job McCall!!!

He has enjoyed meeting everyone so far and loves to have visitors!!! We are scheduled to go home on Sunday afternoon.

We are in the hospital and doing well. I am having contractions but he is showing no response so they are holding off on the induction for the night to limit any extra stress on him. (Can you tell that I am quoting stuff that I really don't understand?) Bottom line...all is healthy and well!! We will see where we stand in the morning! The doctors and nurses are great. We have a corner room (#10) and are enjoying dinner and the Braves game! Hopefully MHM will join us soon!

We are scheduled to be induced on Thursday AM (May 21) if Baby Meece does not decide to join us before!!! We will be at Greenville Memorial Hospital Labor and Delievery. We will keep the blog updated as well as send out emails and text when we can. Thanks for all of your love, prayers, and support. Mommy and Daddy cannot wait to meet Baby Meece!!!

Scott and Kaci completed the Marathon running across the finish line!! Wow, we are so proud! Thanks to Meredith Swilley and Gram, Baby Meece was able to chase them all over Downtown Nashville!!

Mommy, Daddy, Baby Meece, Gram, and Aunt Kaci are off to Nashville tomorrow (April 24) for the Country Music Marathon. Baby Meece is proud of Daddy and Aunt Kaci for training so hard and running on Saturday. He hopes to watch the race from Mommy's belly and not be born @ Vanderbilt!

APRIL UPDATE!! ANYTIME NOW!!!

After a few days in the hospital in March with preterm labor contractions I am back to work and doing well. Baby Meece, who is now known as MHM (his surprise initials) or Crew (cousin Thomas's nickname for him) is measuring over 4 pounds with a perfect heartbeat. The doctors are ready for him to come anytime from NOW to MAY 28. He has enjoyed many great showers given by friends and family and he is so happy with his new clothes, toys, and necessities!! Mommy and Daddy are ready for him when he is ready! MHM is very proud of his Daddy and Aunt Kaci who are preparing for the Country Music Marathon April 25!

UPDATES

Doctor's appointment went very well. The heart beat and size are perfect! I will do the sugar test on March 7 @ my next appointment. Then we start having appointments much closer together!! Baby Meece and Mommy are very excited about the purchases we made at Switch-a-roos last weekend and he is very excited to have his very own Adirondack chair from his Aunt Kaci.

Our next Doctor's appointment is scheduled for Feburary 13 @ 10AM.

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!

We are so excited to have a healthy baby boy on the way. He was very active and made it easy for us to see him from all angles during the ultra sound! I have noticed him growing and moving lately!

We are working on the nursery. It will be green, brown, and khaki! We have registered at target for some really cute things!!!

We are discussing baby names and have some that we really like! We are planning on keeping the name a secret until Baby Meece joins us. However, we are open to suggestions and guesses.
